There's no doubt that Palm Springs is beautiful. There's just something special about the desert landscape, and you can't go wrong with relaxing poolside at one of their beautiful resorts. BUT, as a photographer, Palm Springs offers something more. The way the sun sets behind the rocky hills ... the way the sun reflects off of the sand and onto my subjects' skin ... the way the light enters my camera lens. It just hits different, and it creates a one-of-a-kind beauty.
I get so freakin' excited when my couples say they want to do their photoshoot in Palm Springs! And, I love planning out their session with them and choosing a location that perfectly fits their vision. Here are a few of my favorite spots in the Palm Springs area:
ONE — THE WINDMILLS
This one might feel a tad obvious...but it's a favorite for good reason. The sand beneath the windmills is so smooth and creates beautiful rolling dunes. The rocky hills behind the windmills are the perfect backdrop. And, as you'll see in some of the photos below, the lighting is just incredible at sunset!
TWO — THE SAGUARO HOTEL
This hotel is so fun! It's full of colorful accents with a tropical, modern vibe. You could even turn your photoshoot into a little night away and stay the night here!
THREE — INDIAN CANYON
Indian Canyon feels like a hidden gem in the middle of the desert. There are some incredible rocky hills, some old abandoned buildings, and a true oasis full of palm trees.
FOUR — CAP HOMME / RALPH ADAMS PARK
This spot is technically in Palm Desert, but it's a beautiful park with easy accessibility.
FIVE — WHITEWATER PRESERVE
This is truly one of my favorite spots in the desert. It's so serene and beauty awaits you at every angle. You can get photos amidst the desert landscape and then hop in the creek to cool off.
