Driving through the rolling hills of the Italian countryside, you’ll ascend to a charming village perched atop a hill, where Domus Laeta awaits. This historic villa, set in the UNESCO-protected Cilento National Park, offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. With its XVII-century architecture, elegant gardens, and panoramic outdoor spaces, Domus Laeta is the perfect venue for a refined and intimate destination wedding, blending history with luxury. Whether indoors or outdoors, this venue promises a truly unforgettable setting for your special day. And, one of my favorite parts... the historic house has always belonged to the same family whose memories are still visible in furniture, objects of art, archives, and a library with old and rare books.
When Allie and Savannah reached out to me about photographing their wedding in Italy, I was over the moon! Capturing a wedding in Italy has always been a dream of mine, and I couldn’t have hoped for a sweeter couple. They shared a bit of their story with me: “We’ve been together for 7 years, love to travel, and enjoy cozy moments at home like reading and playing board games. We’re excited to celebrate with friends and family, focusing on capturing fun, genuine moments.”
As their wedding day arrived, I was pinching myself. The beauty of the venue, Domus Laeta, was breathtaking, but what stood out most was the love and joy from their community. Traveling all the way to Italy to celebrate them, their friends and family showed how deeply they cherished Allie and Savannah. This wasn’t just a wedding; it was a beautiful celebration of love and acceptance.
For a couple whose love hasn’t always been fully accepted, finding the perfect person and being able to marry them in a beautiful place, surrounded by a community that loves them fiercely… there are no words. It was pure magic.
Being an inclusive wedding photographer means more than just capturing beautiful moments — it’s about making sure everyone knows that their love is valid, beautiful, and worthy of being celebrated. I want every couple in front of my camera to feel safe, seen, and cherished for who they are. Being part of Allie and Savannah’s wedding was an incredible honor.
