FAQs

These are the most commonly asked questions I receive. Feel free to read through my answers, but please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions.
You can seriously me ask anything!

  • What is your photography style?
My photography style is natural, candid, earthy, and raw. I don’t want you to look super posed and unnatural. To create images that feel authentic and candid, I incorporate a lot of movement and prompting when doing a shoot. For example, I may tell you to tell your partner your favorite vegetables in your sexiest voice OR while holding hands, run toward me like you’re being chased by a giant monkey OR make up a song about your partner while your partner dances to your song. Taking photos with me is all about having fun, creating art, and remembering why you fell in love in the first place. Capturing your skin tone accurately (as it is in real life) is also incredibly important to me. I ensure that my editing style doesn’t change your skin tone. This is why I created The True Tone Promise. Basically, you're not going to enjoy and share your photos if you're looking like a Cheeto in every single image. You deserve photos in which your complexion is true to life. I promise to my clients that your skin tone will be accurately represented in your photos.
  • I would like you to photograph my wedding. How do I start the process?
First, please fill out my contact form. I try my best to respond to all inquiries within two business days. If possible, I would love to chat over the phone or grab a coffee together so that we can get to know each other. Once you have decided to choose me as your photographer, I will send over a digital contract. Once it's signed and you've paid your deposit, you are officially booked! For more information on this process, click here.
  • Where are you based? Do you travel?
I am based out of Huntington Beach in Southern California, but I absolutely love to travel! I will travel anywhere to photograph an awesome couple in an amazing location! Let me know where you are, and we’ll figure out the best way to get me out to you.
  • How many photos will I receive?
You will get a minimum of 150 photos from your lifestyle or engagement session and a minimum of 100 images per hour from your wedding day. I say that to be safe, but it usually ends up being a lot more.
  • When will I get my photos?
For lifestyle and engagement sessions, your photos will be ready within 2 to 4 weeks. For wedding photos, they will be ready within 6 to 10 weeks from your wedding date. I go through a careful process of choosing the best images from the day and then individually processing each of them. I would much rather take the time to properly sort through and edit your photos and present you with beautiful images than to rush through them.
  • Will you provide us with the RAW, unedited image files?
No, I do not give my clients the RAW, unedited image files. Part of the magic of my work is my editing process, and a big part of why my clients book me is because they like my editing style. To me, giving the RAW files to you is like me offering to bring you freshly baked cookies and then giving you a bag of flour and sugar with some eggs on the side. You'd be like, "Where are my cookies?!" I'm not going to deliver an incomplete product to you. If you're worried about missing out on certain photos, I promise that I won't leave out any images that you'll want or need. The photos that I'm not delivering to you are the ones in which: 1) you're blinking or weren't ready for the photo to be taken, 2) I didn't have my camera settings just right, or 3) I just didn't take a good photo. However, if you feel like I forgot to include a certain photo, just let me know. I'm happy to go back through my images and send it over to you!
  • Will you photoshop us?
While I will touch up temporary blemishes like acne and bruises, I won't do intense airbrushing to create someone that doesn't even look like you. I pride myself on providing my clients with true-to-life photos that show off their natural beauty. However, if you have certain things that you're self-conscious about, please don't hesitate to let me know, and I will definitely be mindful of that while posing you.
  • Can I post my photos on social media? Can I order my own prints?
Yes, of course! You will receive personal rights to the photos, meaning that you can print them and post them for personal use. However, I just ask that you please do not edit your photos or apply any filters or presets from any program or app to the images that you share.
  • Do you help with the planning process?
In short, YES!!! I love working with my clients to plan (and execute) the photoshoot/elopement/wedding of their dreams. Here are some examples of how I can help you in the planning process: If you know you want to elope, but you're not sure where, I can offer some location recommendations based on your likes/dislikes. If you don't know how to go about eloping (i.e. getting a permit, finding an officiant), I will guide you through these steps. If you have a general vision of what you want your wedding to look like, but you're not sure how to bring it all together, I can offer a second opinion on what will look good together. I am happy to give feedback on dress options, floral designs, and, of course, dessert choices. Before your big day, I will work with you to create a photography timeline for the day. This is just a loose timeline — we don't have to stick to it minute by minute. However, it gives everyone a general idea on where they should be and at what time. Basically, I am here for you every step of the way! However, if you're looking for vendor recommendations, I have an awesome network of wedding planners, florists, and make artists / hair stylists that I am happy to refer to you.
  • What kind of equipment do you use? Do you bring back-up equipment?
I shoot with a mirrorless Canon EOS R6 and use a combination of prime and zoom lenses. I bring two camera bodies and an assortment of lenses and flashes to every wedding. This way, if there is a problem with a piece of equipment, I have a back-up that I can grab right away.
  • What if something happens to you and you cannot make it to my wedding?
It has never happened that I was not able to photograph a wedding; however, life is unpredictable. If something tragic were to happen, I have a network of professional photographers whom I can contact to cover your event.
  • What is your favorite type of cookie?
This is such a difficult, but incredibly important question! After much thought, deliberation, and taste-testing, I would have to say browned butter chocolate chip.
